Join the Insight Center for Community Economic Development and its Closing the Racial Wealth Initiative on November 14, 2012 for a summit of pollsters, political analysts, policy experts, and national thought leaders from communities of color.

The event will analyze the role communities of color played in the 2012 elections and explore how the Obama Administration and the newly elected U.S. Congress can advance policies that will promote asset building in these communities that help to close the racial wealth gap.

For every dollar of wealth owned by the median white family, the median black family now owns only four cents and the median Latino family only seven cents; Asian American and Pacific Islander and American Indian and Alaska Native families also hold far less wealth. Evaluating the post-election political landscape will be critical in identifying challenges and developing strategies to reduce racial wealth disparities and achieve economic security for all.
